Investigators with the Irving Police Department have noticed a couple of recent crime trends occurring in the southern area of the city. First, suspects have been targeting vehicles that have been left unlocked when committing burglary of motor vehicles. Please remember to lock your vehicle, park in well lit areas and close to buildings, remove or hide from view any valuables, and if equipped – set your car alarm. Residents should always remember to Lock, Take, and Hide.
Suspects have also been targeting homes with window mounted air conditioning units when committing residential burglaries. If you have a window mounted air conditioning unit, please make sure it is mounted correctly and secure.
The Irving Police Department would like to remind residents to remain diligent in their crime prevention efforts and always remember to call the police if you see someone or something suspicious.
