December 4, 2011
Structure Fire: The victim is handicapped and in a wheelchair. It appears that he was smoking while hooked up to an oxygen device and accidentally set his home in the 1800 block of Gilbreath on fire. He perished in the fire. The other residents of the home were not at home at the time. IFD Fire Marshall responded to the scene and will conduct the investigation.

December 6, 2011
Aggravated Robbery (12:09 am): Suspects grabbed victim from behind as he was walking towards his apartment in the Eagle Crest Apartment Complex. One suspect pointed a pistol at the victim and demanded his wallet. The suspects took his wallet and keys and then fled on foot. Victim was not injured.

Theft of a Person (12:32 am): The victim had just made a deposit in the ATM machine at Bank of America in the 3600 Block of N. Beltline when two suspects approached him and took his cash and cell phone. The suspects ran on foot towards the back of the bank and may have driven off in a white car. Suspects didn’t display a weapon and victim was not injured.

The Irving Fire Department responded to 178 incidents during the first week of December (1st through 7th).
