A traffic stop in Celina early Wednesday morning, February 26, 2025, resulted in a vehicle pursuit, the discovery of burglary tools, and the arrest of one individual.
At approximately 1:00 a.m., Celina Police Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of S. Preston Road. Upon contacting the driver, officers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
When officers requested all five occupants to exit the vehicle, the driver fled southbound on Preston Road, evading officers. The vehicle was last seen turning onto Punk Carter Parkway, where officers lost visual contact.
Officers located the abandoned vehicle shortly after and took one passenger, 17-year-old Christopher Hernandez into custody.
The Texas Department of Public Safety Air 1 and the Celina Drone Team assisted in the search for the remaining four occupants, but they were not located.
During the vehicle impound process, officers discovered items commonly used for vehicle burglaries.
The Celina Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division is actively working to identify and locate the remaining suspects.
