The Fort Worth Police Department has made portions of body-worn camera footage available from an officer-involved shooting that occurred on March 12, 2025, at a commercial business in the 1100 block of Terminal Rd.

At approximately 3:50 a.m., Northwest Division officers responded to a burglar alarm at a restaurant located in the 1100 block of Terminal Rd. Officers were alerted to an open door, prompting them to inspect the property for signs of forced entry. Upon arrival at around 3:57 a.m., officers conducted a perimeter check around the back of the business.
During their search, the officers encountered a man who was holding a gun pointed toward them. Despite multiple verbal commands to show his hands and drop the weapon, the man did not immediately comply. One officer, fearing for their safety, discharged their duty weapon toward the man. However, the man was not struck by the gunfire.
After the officer fired, the man complied with the commands, dropped the gun, and was quickly taken into custody. The man, later identified as the business owner, was detained for a short period before being released after the situation was clarified.
As the investigation unfolded, detectives determined that the restaurant and a storage area in the back of the property had been broken into by an unknown suspect or suspects.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and the man was not charged. The Major Case Unit has taken the lead on the investigation into the burglary, which remains ongoing.
In line with Fort Worth Police Department policy, both officers involved in the incident have been placed on standard Significant Event Leave as the investigation into the officer-involved shooting is conducted.
