Woman Sentenced for Vandalizing Firefighter's Lancaster Home on Move-In Day

Kawania Lynn

Kawania Lynn, 61, has been found guilty of Criminal Mischief and sentenced to four years of straight probation, along with a stay-away order from the offense location.

The incident occurred on November 16, 2021, when Lynn arrived at a DeSoto firefighter's new home on move-in day and began smashing windows with a brick. The firefighter's infant son was sleeping inside the home at the time.

Lancaster Police responded to a disturbance call at the 100 block of Aspen St. and found Lynn at the scene. Lynn claimed the house was hers and that the new homeowners were living in her residence, stating she was a former resident of the address.

The new homeowner reported that Lynn drove up, removed the metal real estate yard sign, and threw it to the ground. She then used a brick to break the first window and the metal yard sign to break four more. The homeowner tackled Lynn to the ground to prevent further damage, as his infant son was sleeping in the room.

After years of legal proceedings, involving multiple defense attorneys and numerous pro-se motions, Lynn was found guilty on February 27, 2025.

The prosecution team included Lead Prosecutor Sarah Beth Delay, Second Chair Max Ternosky, DA Investigator Michael Csaszar, and DA Paralegal Stephanie Thompson. The Lancaster Police Department conducted the investigation.
