Authorities are investigating after a suitcase containing suspected explosive devices was discovered in a wooded area near Wynne Park on Sunday, March 30, 2025.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., Garland Police responded to reports from a citizen who found an open suitcase with various scattered items in the vicinity of West Centerville Road and South First Street. Among the discarded items were objects resembling homemade explosives.
Officers confirmed that some of the discovered objects appeared to be potential explosive devices. The Garland Police Department’s Bomb Unit, along with Bomb Technicians from the FBI, responded to the scene. Upon further examination, bomb technicians identified numerous live homemade explosive devices near the suitcase and worked through the day and into the night to render them safe.
Investigators from the FBI and Garland PD Detectives are actively working to determine the origin of the devices and any potential threats associated with the incident.

Garland Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest or indictment.
