Man Sentenced to 80 Years for Deadly Motel Shooting in Fort Worth

A Tarrant County jury convicted Joe Lozano, 43, of Murder on April 1, 2025, and sentenced him to 80 years in prison.

Lozano was found guilty of fatally shooting 54-year-old Lorenzo Savoskey Sexton of Houston five times following a verbal altercation near the pool of a Days Inn Motel in the 4200 block of South Freeway on June 3, 2023.

The case was investigated by the Fort Worth Police Department and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Sarah Sherman and Madeline Jones.
