Irving City Council Elections: Early Voting Begins April 22nd; Zeske Drops Out

Irving residents will head to the polls in May to elect representatives for City Council districts Places 1, 2, and 7. Early voting is scheduled to run from April 22nd through April 29th, with Election Day set for Saturday, May 3rd.

The upcoming election will determine who represents Irving in the following districts:

  • Single-Member District Place 1: Voters in this district will choose between candidates John Bloch and Tony Grimes.  
  • At-Large District Place 2: This race is open to all registered voters in Irving and features candidates Vicky Akinyi Oduk, David Pfaff, and Sergio Porres. It's important to note that although Mark Zeske has publicly stated he is no longer seeking this position, and has asked that people vote for other candidates, that procedurally he can not withdraw from the race, and that his name will remain on the ballot.  
  • Single-Member District Place 7: Residents of this district will choose between Adam Muller and Priscilla Vigliante.

Early Voting Details:

Early voting will take place from April 22nd to April 29th at the following locations:

  • Irving City Hall (825 W. Irving Blvd.)  
  • Irving Arts Center (3333 N. MacArthur Blvd.)  
  • Valley Ranch Library (401 Cimarron Trail)

The early voting schedule is as follows:

  • April 22-25 (Tuesday-Friday): 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • April 26 (Saturday): 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • April 27 (Sunday): noon to 6 p.m.
  • April 28-29 (Monday & Tuesday): 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Election Day Information:

Election Day is Saturday, May 3rd, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents can find their designated Election Day voting centers by visiting DallasCountyVotes.org, as locations are subject to change.

Key Voting Information:

  • All Irving registered voters can vote for the At-Large District Place 2 position.
  • Only voters residing in Single-Member Districts 1 and 7 can vote for the candidates in their respective districts.
  • Dallas County residents can vote at any Dallas County Vote Center during both Early Voting and on Election Day.
