The Tarrant County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday, April 9th, that 20-year-old Alan Gerardo has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to Murder.

The crime occurred in the early morning hours of September 7, 2022, in the South Edgewood neighborhood of Fort Worth. Gerardo and 18-year-old Angel Jesus Salinas were in a car parked on South Hughes Avenue. Gerardo exited the vehicle, walked to the driver's side window, and fired three shots at Salinas, fatally wounding him. Salinas' body was discovered in the car later that morning.
The case was prosecuted by Brittanae Hamilton, with DA Investigator Michael McGuire and Victim Coordinator Candace Burnett contributing to the case.
During an emotional allocution at the sentencing hearing, Angel Salinas' sister addressed Gerardo directly, saying, "You are a disgrace to your family and the community as a whole. I wish you nothing but the worst."
