19-year-old Allan Craig Gilbert has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree aggravated assault in a Tarrant County courtroom.
The case stems from a May 1, 2024, drive-by shooting on Las Vegas Trail in Fort Worth, during which Gilbert and four codefendants opened fire on an apartment complex, injuring six people. The victims ranged in age from 3 to 19. Bullets also struck multiple other apartment units in the complex.
Gilbert is a documented member of the Bloods criminal street gang.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Dani Wojciak. Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office investigators Marcus Rink and Steve Groppi assisted with the case. Laura Medina served as the victim coordinator.
