Arrest Made in Missing Dallas Teen Case; Woman Charged with Compelling Prostitution

Jordyn Davidson

The Dallas Police Department has arrested 25-year-old Jordyn Davidson in connection with the disappearance of a 13-year-old Hispanic girl who had been missing since April 1st.

The arrest occurred on Wednesday, April 9th, following a week-long search that involved the girl's frustrated family actively looking for her after expressing concerns about the initial police investigation. After local news outlets reported the missing person case, a viewer provided a tip to the family regarding a possible sighting.

On Tuesday, April 8th, family members located the missing girl at a motel near Harry Hines Boulevard. They confronted individuals at the location and were able to rescue the teen before calling the police. Officers responded to the scene and continued the investigation, which led to Davidson's arrest.

The 13-year-old girl was taken to a hospital for examination, underwent a forensic interview, and spoke with police before being released to her family. The girl's mother has voiced criticism regarding the handling of the case by both the Thomas C. Marsh Academy, the girl's school, and the Dallas Police Department. Dallas ISD has directed inquiries about how the child left school grounds to the police department, stating they are unsure if she left voluntarily or was taken.

Concerns about the urgency of the search were also raised by the local LULAC chapter and the Guatemalan Consulate in Dallas in the days following the girl's disappearance.

According to the arrest affidavit, the teenager admitted to police that she got into a car with an unknown individual and ended up at a homeless encampment off Harry Hines Boulevard. She stated she "felt stuck not knowing how to return home safely." The affidavit further detailed that she met Davidson at the encampment, who reportedly taught her how to be "street smart" before convincing her it would be "beneficial to combine their money from performing sexual acts" to buy food and a motel room. The girl also reported being denied shelter if she did not comply.

The girl's mother has stated she will not allow her daughter to return to Thomas C. Marsh Academy. Jordyn Davidson has been charged with Compelling Prostitution Under Age 18, and her bond has been set at $100,000. She is currently in custody and will have an ankle monitor installed upon release.
