Two men are dead and a third person was injured following a shooting in the 5500 block of James Avenue early Sunday morning.
Fort Worth police officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 4:34 a.m. on April 20, 2025. Upon arrival, they located two victims with apparent gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. Both men were pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
A third shooting victim was transported to a local hospital via private vehicle, where they were treated and subsequently released.
Detectives determined that the two deceased victims were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated, leading to both individuals drawing handguns and shooting each other. The third victim appears to have been struck by crossfire.
A third shooter was also involved, firing at one of the deceased victims as that victim was shooting at the other. This third shooter remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time.
