A case initially reported as an aggravated assault on March 21, 2025, is now under investigation as a homicide by Fort Worth Police Homicide Detectives.
On March 21st, officers responded to the 900 block of E. Broadway Ave. regarding an assault. Upon arrival, they located a victim with apparent upper body injuries who was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The investigation was initially assigned to Central Division detectives.
On April 11, 2025, the Central Criminal Investigation Unit was notified that the victim had died as a result of his injuries. Subsequently, Homicide detectives were informed and took over the investigation.
Detectives determined that the victim was assaulted by two suspects while lying on the ground. Their investigation led to the identification of a suspect, and a warrant was issued for their arrest.
On April 17, 2025, that suspect was apprehended without incident. The investigation into this homicide is ongoing.
