Twenty-two-year-old Jose Luis Galvan pled guilty to two counts of murder in Tarrant County on Wednesday and was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
The charges stemmed from a shooting on March 10, 2021, in which Galvan, then 18 years old, fatally shot Gerardo Soto and Luis Hernandez multiple times. Galvan also shot Marland Dorsey in the back as he fled, though Dorsey survived. The victims were reportedly strangers to Galvan.
The shooting occurred in a Fort Worth neighborhood while Soto, Hernandez, and Dorsey were picking up a friend's infant son as part of a custody exchange.
