Responding officers quickly disarmed the man and administered first aid. He was transported to JPS Hospital, where he later died from the self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The identity of the driver has not been released pending notification of next of kin by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.
As standard protocol in any officer-involved shooting, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office Officer Involved Shooting Team was notified. The incident will be reviewed by a Tarrant County Grand Jury upon the completion of the investigation.
