The Ferris Department of Public Safety (DPS) has announced another arrest in connection with the homicide of 17-year-old Sir Robert Wesley Dixon. Dixon died after being shot in the neck on May 10th, at Jerry Watson Memorial Park. His twin, 17-year-old Mister Donald Dwayne Dixon, has been arrested and is believed to be one of the shooters. Detectives have reviewed surveillance footage that shows a large-scale altercation involving juveniles and young adults.
On Monday, Ferris DPS officers apprehended two individuals connected to this homicide that were at large. Both arrests were made without incident. 17-year-old Juliana Jazzlean Pargas was located and arrested at a family member's home in Lancaster. Pargas is facing a charge of tampering with evidence. The second individual is a juvenile with an outstanding warrant directly related to the incident.
On Tuesday, May 13th, 32-year-old Donald Lofton Jr. was taken into custody in Waxahachie on charges of Failure to Report a Felony and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He has been transported to the Ellis County Jail.
The arrest follows the execution of search warrants at Lofton’s residence and on a vehicle he allegedly used to leave the scene of the homicide. Investigators also executed a separate search warrant on a vehicle impounded since the day of the incident. This vehicle, registered to 18-year-old LaSkie Chandler, was occupied by the juvenile murder suspect and several other individuals at the time of the shooting. The search of Chandler's vehicle yielded a firearm believed to be the possible murder weapon. The weapon matches witness descriptions and is currently undergoing forensic analysis to confirm its connection to the fatal shooting.
Lofton Jr. is reportedly related to both the victim, Sir Robert Wesley Dixon, and the 17-year-old suspect, Mister Donald Dwayne Dixon, who has already been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in this case.
Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams commented on the ongoing investigation, stating, “We are following the facts and evidence wherever they lead, ensuring no stone is left unturned. That is our responsibility, and we take it seriously. Our hearts still break for the loss this community has suffered. We remain as steadfast in our prayers as we are in our resolve to see this case through. Our prayers are with the families, the victims, the community, and all those impacted. No part of this is easy, and none of it is something any community should have to endure. We look forward to better days.”
The investigation remains active, and authorities anticipate additional arrest warrants as evidence continues to be processed and reviewed. The Ferris DPS urges anyone with information related to the case to contact them at 972.544.2225 or the Marty Steinfeldt Public Safety Headquarters.
