During the months of February and March, the Irving City Marshal’s Office and the Irving Police Department will participate in the Texas Warrant Roundup. As part of the statewide roundup, defendants with outstanding warrants for Class C misdemeanor violations can be arrested anywhere—including at their place of employment.
“For Irving, the Texas Warrant Roundup brings community awareness of the need to ensure that records are clear of any outstanding violations,” said Councilman Mike Gallaway. “We hope that participation in the roundup will cause more people to settle cases with the Irving Municipal Court in a timely manner.”
Irving residents with outstanding warrants are urged to contact the Irving Municipal Court at (972) 721-2671, or visit the Irving Municipal Court, located at 305 N. O’Connor Road, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. In 2011, there were 250 law enforcement agencies that participated in the statewide roundup event. The Irving Municipal Court cleared more than 2,100 Irving Class C misdemeanor warrants by arrest, collection and other court dispositions during the 2011 Texas Warrant Roundup.
“The Texas Warrant Roundup supports those laws that are in place to keep Irving streets as safe as possible,” said Chief City Marshal Mark Eads. “The Texas Warrant Roundup also sends the message to those who have failed to clear warrants and settle outstanding cases that the consequences are real.”
