Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Forcing Victim into Trunk at Gunpoint in Fort Worth

Rayshaun Miller

A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday, May 29.

Rayshaun Miller admitted to abducting a victim at gunpoint on August 11, 2023. According to investigators, Miller brandished a firearm, forced the victim into the trunk of the victim's own car, and then drove away.

At some point during the incident, the vehicle came to a stop, allowing the victim to escape by pulling the emergency trunk release and fleeing on foot.

Fort Worth Police later tracked Miller down by using the “Find My iPhone” app to locate the victim’s phone, which remained inside the stolen car.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Mollie Mallin and Michael Mooneyham.
