Saginaw Man Gets 13 Years for Assaulting, Strangling Mother of His Children

Thomas Williams

A Tarrant County jury on June 11, 2025, sentenced Thomas Lee Williams, 33, to 13 years in prison after finding him guilty of assault family violence-impeding breath.

The conviction stems from a May 13, 2023 incident in a Saginaw home, where Williams assaulted, strangled, and threatened to kill the mother of his children. The victim's daughter witnessed the strangulation and bravely hid in a closet to call 911. Saginaw Police officers quickly responded and took Williams into custody.

During the trial, the jury also heard that a year prior to this incident, while the victim was seven months pregnant, Williams had similarly strangled and threatened her with a gun in front of her children.

The case was prosecuted by Colin Maloney and Edward Tomlin of the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office. DA Investigator Michael McGuire, a former North Richland Hills Police Officer and Hostage Negotiator, assisted with the investigation, alongside Victim Coordinator Imelda Lopez.
