A Tarrant County jury has found Carolyn Rodriguez, 61, of Fort Worth, guilty of hindering proceedings by disorderly conduct. She was sentenced to 18 months of probation, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced.
The charge stems from an incident on January 28, 2025, when Rodriguez attended a Tarrant County Commissioners Court meeting. During the public comment portion, she used multiple profanities in protest of rules banning expletives. After being ordered to leave, she reportedly shouted another swear word and was then arrested.
The case was prosecuted by Lloyd Whelchel and Brandon Martin.
Rodriguez faces up to 270 days in jail and a $2,000 fine if she violates the terms of her probation.
Rodriguez has a history of arrests, including:
-
December 11, 2024 – False alarm or report
-
June 23, 2024 – False alarm or report, interference with public duties, resisting arrest, and evading arrest or detention (she sustained visible facial injuries during that arrest)
-
December 16, 2022 – Criminal trespass
-
Three separate arrests in 2022 – Interference with public duties
She also has a documented history of drug abuse in Wise County, according to court records.
