Fatal Wrong-Way Crash on I-35W in Fort Worth

One person was killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision caused by a wrong-way driver on I-35W near Berry Street early Sunday morning, June 22.

At approximately 1:07 a.m., Fort Worth Fire and Police, along with Medstar EMS, responded to reports of a major two-vehicle accident in the northbound lanes. Upon arrival, officers found both vehicles with extensive damage.

Investigators determined that one vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided with another vehicle. The wrong-way driver was the sole occupant of their vehicle. The other vehicle contained two occupants.

Tragically, the passenger of the vehicle struck by the wrong-way driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The drivers of both vehicles were transported to an area hospital by medical personnel with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
