A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to a fatal fentanyl overdose that occurred in Arlington in 2024.
On March 16, 2024, Arlington Police officers were called to a rehabilitation facility in the 1000 block of Wet N Wild Way in North Arlington after a patient was found unresponsive. The individual, identified as 26-year-old Logan Michael Valetutto of Dallas, was transported to a hospital where he later died. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office determined his cause of death was fentanyl toxicity.
Detectives launched an investigation and used phone records and other digital evidence to identify Orion Otero, 25, as the individual who supplied the fentanyl to Valetutto.
Otero was located and apprehended on Monday, July 21, 2025, by the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the Arlington Police Department and the Irving Police Department. He was arrested at an apartment in the 1000 block of Lake Carolyn Parkway in Las Colinas.
Otero was booked into the Irving Jail at 2:28 p.m. and is awaiting transfer to the Tarrant County Jail.
The murder charge was made possible by a 2023 Texas law that allows for murder charges to be filed against individuals who provide fentanyl resulting in death.
