Felon Arrested, Weapons and Gang Paraphernalia Seized After Dallas Shooting Call

Arrested: David Frank

DALLAS, TX – Dallas Police have arrested David Frank, 54, following an active shooter call on July 16, 2025, in the 1500 block of North Beckley Avenue. The arrest led to the seizure of firearms, body armor, and items associated with a known motorcycle gang.

Southwest Patrol officers responded to the area at approximately 9:45 p.m. after witnesses reported seeing a man shooting at a car. Upon arrival at a residence on Beckley Avenue, officers located Frank, along with evidence of a recent shooting, including fired cartridge casings and what appeared to be blood on the ground.

Detectives were called to the scene and obtained a search warrant, which was then executed by Southwest CRT officers. The search yielded two handguns, ammunition, and body armor. Investigators also discovered gang paraphernalia and memorabilia linked to a known motorcycle gang, including a leather vest or “cut” adorned with associated patches. A second search warrant was granted to specifically seize these gang-related items.

“Although there were no formal reports of aggravated assault, our officers and detectives used strategic investigative tools to continue working the case, which led to a dangerous gang member off the street,” said Deputy Chief Majusta Allen.

Frank was arrested and faces multiple charges:

  • Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon with a Felony Conviction (Second-Degree Felony)

  • Unlawful Possession of Body Armor by a Felon (Third-Degree Felony)

  • Discharge of a Firearm in Certain Municipalities (Class-A Misdemeanor)

The investigation is documented under case number 101398-2025.
