A tornado touched down in North Irving during today's thunderstorms. Townsell Elementary School at 3700 Pleasant Run near Northgate was hit by the tornado. The school district is reporting minor damage and no injuries. The damage involved a ruptured gas line that took out two HVAC units. The school will be open tomorrow.
All schools were in lockdown mode during the storm. All evening activities were cancelled by the IISD.
