Dallas Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened Sunday evening in South Dallas.
On August 31, 2025, at about 5:10 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1800 block of Jeffries Street, near the Austin Street Center.
When police arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injury. His name has not yet been released. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will work to confirm his identity.
Police arrested the suspect, 66-year-old Charles Reeder, at the scene. He was taken to the Dallas County Jail and charged with Murder.
The case remains under active investigation and is documented under case number 125543-2025.
