FORT WORTH, Texas—The Fort Worth Fire Department (FWFD) had a busy Sunday, responding to a train derailment and multiple structure fires, including a commercial blaze on N. Main St.

The day began with a nine-car train derailment on W. Vickery Blvd. This was followed by three residential structure fires before crews were called to a commercial fire.

A fire engine on its way to the hospital to pick up crew members—who had assisted an EMS team on a high-priority call—noticed smoke north of downtown. The two-person crew located the fire on N. Main St., called for additional resources, and immediately made an aggressive interior attack.

It took approximately 45 minutes for crews to bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, and the cause of the fire on N. Main St. is currently under investigation.
