On Saturday, September 6th, North Fort Worth police responded to an emergency call at a residence on the 2100 block of Grace Avenue, where they discovered a man had been fatally stabbed.
Officers found 25-year-old Gabriel Melendez with a stab wound to his chest. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators determined that 27-year-old Keller Campbell was responsible for the stabbing. According to the police report, Campbell and Melendez were involved in an argument inside the home before Campbell grabbed a frying pan and a knife, ultimately stabbing Melendez at least once.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as “sharp force injuries of chest,” classifying it as a homicide. County records indicate that Melendez was the owner of the home.
Campbell was arrested on Monday, September 8th, and charged with murder. Her bond is set at $250,000, and she remains in custody.
