Irving, TX — Downtown Irving is about to get a new look — and the community is invited to help shape it.
The City of Irving, in partnership with local nonprofit Better Block, has announced the launch of the Downtown Irving Reimagined Project, a community-driven effort to transform Main Street into a more vibrant, people-centered destination.
Volunteer Workshops: Oct. 8–10
Residents of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to take part in hands-on volunteer workshops scheduled for October 8, 9, and 10. Activities will include painting, building, and other creative placemaking projects designed to reflect community feedback gathered over the past year. Projects will focus on public art, gathering spaces, and pedestrian-friendly enhancements.
Experience Main St.: Oct. 10–11
The workshops will lead into Experience Main St., a two-day celebration on October 10 and 11, where the temporary transformation of downtown will be unveiled.
The weekend event will feature:
-
Pop-up shops and vendor booths
-
Interactive art installations
-
Live music and performances
-
Outdoor dining featuring local restaurants
-
A walkable, reimagined Main Street experience
Experience Main St. will continue through December 2025, offering residents and visitors multiple opportunities to explore the enhanced downtown environment. Additional volunteer roles will also be available during the event weekend for support and clean-up.
City officials say the project is part of a larger effort to revitalize downtown, improve walkability, and create a stronger sense of place for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
