An investigation by the Addison Police Department has led to the conviction of five individuals connected to a violent home invasion that occurred on April 28, 2020.
The incident targeted an Addison resident who was also a customer of Gold Rush, a local gold buying and selling business. Investigators determined that Gold Rush owners Hamdan “Alex” Hamdan and Hamdan Omar Hamdan conspired with members of the Tango Blast gang to carry out the aggravated robbery.
The investigation and subsequent arrests took more than a year to complete and included assistance from multiple agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, Irving Police Department, Frisco Police Department, Richardson Police Department, and the Dallas Police Department.
Three suspects — Michael Neria, Christopher Jimenez, and Omar Hamdan — pleaded guilty to charges related to the case. Charges against Hamdan “Alex” Hamdan were dismissed as part of a plea agreement in a separate but related case in Irving.
Authorities also believe the group may have been tied to a series of burglaries across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex between July 2019 and January 2021.
