FORT WORTH — The City of Fort Worth’s Transportation & Public Works (TPW) Department has teamed up with Trinity Metro to offer free Bike Share memberships to all City employees. The initiative is part of a broader effort to promote sustainable commuting and healthy lifestyles.
Memberships allow employees unlimited 60-minute rides on both electric and traditional bikes, making it easy to travel between downtown offices, run errands, or enjoy a ride during lunch breaks — even on weekends.
The closest stations to City Hall are at Fifth and Penn streets, with another nearby at West Seventh Street. Registration is quick and paperless through the Trinity Metro Bikes app. Employees use their City email (@fortworthtexas.gov) and the promotion code FWTXBIKES to sign up. A temporary $50 hold is placed at signup and refunded within 48 hours.
“With e-bikes, staff can stay comfortable and sweat-free while riding to work or meetings,” said TPW officials. “This partnership supports wellness, sustainability, and Fort Worth’s goal of modern, accessible urban mobility.”
The program underscores the City’s commitment to employee wellness, environmental responsibility, and its “Moving a Million” initiative to enhance transportation projects across Fort Worth.
