FORT WORTH, TX – The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a domestic-related homicide that occurred Monday afternoon, September 29th, near the 2800 block of Thorson Lane in the Western Hills North area.
Officers were called to the scene in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, they discovered two stabbing victims and detained a suspect. One victim, later identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 61-year-old Eric Van Morgan, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim was transported to a local hospital; their condition is currently unknown.
Preliminary investigations indicate the incident stemmed from a verbal and physical altercation between the victims. During the confrontation, one victim stabbed the other multiple times, after which a third person – the suspect – stabbed the first victim, resulting in his death. The deceased and the suspect are related.
Detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and the suspect to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities do not believe there is a threat to the general public.
