Cockrell Hill, TX — On October 4, 2025, the Cockrell Hill Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the Dallas Police Department SWAT Team, executed a no-knock search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Archer Avenue following a multi-month investigation into Edward “Eddie” Gallegos, 42.
Gallegos faced multiple active felony warrants at the time of the operation, including probation violations for indecency with a child, injury to a child or elderly person, failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, and fraud.
When officers arrived, Gallegos barricaded himself inside the residence, resulting in a two-hour standoff with the Dallas Police Department SWAT Team. After the deployment of chemical agents, Gallegos surrendered without further incident.
During the search, officers recovered two loaded firearms—a Bushmaster AR-15 rifle and a Glock 48 9 mm handgun—along with nearly half a pound of suspected methamphetamine and MDMA, digital scales, baggies, and other narcotics paraphernalia.
Additional felony charges were filed against Gallegos, including aggravated assault – family violence with a deadly weapon, and manufacture/delivery of controlled substances (PG1 and PG2) for amounts between 4 and 200 grams. The case has been discussed with the ATF and may be considered for potential federal prosecution.
