An Irving Police officer arrested a wanted fugitive early Thursday morning after a traffic stop revealed he was driving under the influence and wanted for a serious felony out of Dallas County.
In the early hours of October 30, 2025, an Irving officer conducted a traffic stop on a reckless driver. The driver, later identified as 37-year-old John Jallah Massa of Mesquite, appeared to be intoxicated and initially provided a false name. Officers administered a sobriety test, which Massa failed.
After confirming his identity, officers discovered that Massa was wanted by the Dallas Police Department’s Special Victims Unit in connection with a Sexual Assault of a Child investigation. Records also showed he had multiple prior DWI convictions and was currently on probation for a third DWI conviction from August 2019. In that case, Massa had pleaded guilty in a plea agreement, receiving a five-year Texas Department of Criminal Justice sentence followed by five years of community supervision.
Massa was arrested and charged with:
-

Driving While Intoxicated, 3rd or More (Felony)
 -

Failing to Identify as a Fugitive by Giving False Information
 -

Probation Violation – DWI Conviction

He was transferred to the Dallas County Jail on October 31, where he remains held on the warrant related to the Sexual Assault of a Child case.
