Killeen Police are searching for 33-year-old Audrea Jaron “Dre” McCuin, wanted in connection with the kidnapping and assault of a 2-year-old child during an October 11 incident.
Officers were dispatched that evening to a home in the 800 block of Oakhill Drive after a family friend, who was babysitting the child, reported that an unknown man forced his way inside and took the child. Investigators say the suspect placed the toddler in the front seat of a vehicle without a car seat, causing visible injuries. When the babysitter tried to intervene, she was assaulted before the suspect fled with the child.
The child was later recovered safely, and detectives with the Killeen Police Department’s Special Victims Unit identified McCuin as the suspect. On November 6, the Bell County District Attorney’s Office issued multiple felony complaints, including Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit Kidnapping, Endangering a Child, and Injury to a Child. Justice of the Peace Cliff Coleman issued arrest warrants for each charge.
Before these new warrants, McCuin already faced four outstanding misdemeanor charges — False Report, Assault Causing Bodily Injury, and Interference with an Emergency Call among them.
Anyone with information on McCuin’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Killeen Police Department at (254) 501-8830 or Bell County Crime Stoppers at (254) 526-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips can also be submitted at bellcountycrimestoppers.com or through the P3Tips app.
Chief Lopez commended the responding officers and investigators for their quick and compassionate response, saying their teamwork and professionalism “made it possible to identify and charge the suspect responsible for this disturbing crime.”
