IRVING, TX - Christina Mathis, CEO of Medical City Las Colinas, has been named the Young Healthcare Executive of the Year by the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council (DFWHC). The award was presented during the council’s 77th Annual Award Luncheon on October 24.
Mathis said the recognition reflects the people she works with every day. “At Medical City Healthcare, ‘Care Like Family’ guides how we lead,” she said. “I’m grateful to accept this award and share it with the mentors and the Medical City Las Colinas family who inspire and support me.”
The annual award highlights rising healthcare leaders in North Texas. Nominees must be 40 or younger and employed by a DFWHC-member hospital.
Mathis stepped into the CEO role at Medical City Las Colinas in March 2025. She oversees financial operations, clinical quality, patient experience and strategic direction for the hospital. Before that, she served as CEO of Medical City Frisco beginning in November 2023. During her tenure there, the hospital grew its service lines and maintained its Level III Trauma Center and Level III Maternal facility designations. Medical City Frisco was also named one of Healthgrades’ 250 Best Hospitals in both 2023 and 2024.
