Infant Johnson, 27, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the brutal June 2022 murders of a married couple in North Dallas. Johnson, along with co-defendant Quincy Edwards, targeted the couple believing they had a large sum of cash in their apartment.
The attack unfolded late at night when the suspects enlisted a third man to knock on the apartment door. As the male victim answered, Johnson and Edwards, armed with guns, rushed in. Edwards shot the male victim in the stomach, and Johnson shot him two additional times, killing him. The female victim emerged from the bathroom and was shot in the head by Johnson. The pair then stole property from the apartment before fleeing.
Tragically, the couple’s young children were left inside the apartment: a three-year-old and an eight-month-old. Over the next 60 hours, the three-year-old survived alone long enough to lead a neighbor back to the apartment, where the neighbor discovered the bodies and rescued the eight-month-old.
Investigators linked Johnson and Edwards to the murders through extensive evidence, including surveillance footage showing their arrival at the apartment, clothing visible in social media posts matching what the suspects were wearing at the scene, phone records, and GPS data confirming their movements. Johnson also attempted to hide evidence, sending a Facebook message about needing to bury a weapon days after the murders.
Both suspects had prior criminal history, including a similar aggravated robbery in Fort Worth. During the trial, the jury convicted Johnson of capital murder. He received a life sentence without the possibility of parole, while Edwards was sentenced to 50 years in prison for his role in the killings.
The case was prosecuted by lead attorney Loren Collins, with Krystal Biggins as second chair and appellate support from Grace Shin and Paige Williams. Investigators from the Dallas Police Department’s Homicide Unit, led by Detective Yahir Perez, played a key role in building the case.
