The Irving Police Department and Irving Police Athletic League will once again present the Summer Hoops/Kicks youth programs for students.
The programs will take place from July 9-August 3. The free programs are designed to provide a safe and secure option for kids who might otherwise have trouble staying busy during the summer. The Hoops program is for kids ages 10-14 and focuses on basketball while the Kicks
program is for ages 8-14 and focuses on soccer.
Students will be able to practice their fundamental basketball and soccer skills, learn team work, and get to know their School Resource Officers outside of a school setting. All of the program instructors are Irving Police Officers.
The Hoops program will take place daily from 9 a. m. to 1 p.m. at Travis Middle School, 1600 Finley Road.
The Kicks program will take place daily from 8 a.m. to noon at Austin Middle School, 825 E. Union Bower Road.
