LAKE WORTH, TX – On Thursday night, December 4th, Lake Worth Police Department’s Special Operations Unit arrested 37-year-old Travoni Stubblefield after a traffic stop led to the seizure of large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
The traffic stop occurred in the 3900 block of Boat Club Road. During the stop, a K-9 unit alerted officers to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search revealed approximately 73 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 30 grams of suspected fentanyl hidden in compartments under the vehicle’s hood.
Stubblefield, a convicted felon with a 37-page criminal history including 29 prior arrests, 16 of which were drug-related, was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1) and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Penalty Group 1-B), both less than 200 grams. His previous convictions include drug distribution and evading arrest.
Authorities highlighted the deadly potential of fentanyl, noting that as little as 2 milligrams can be fatal. The seized amount could have caused thousands of overdoses, underscoring the significance of the operation.
Lake Worth Police emphasized that this arrest reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to targeting drug traffickers and protecting the community from life-threatening substances.
