Dallas police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and four others injured late Saturday night.
On December 6, 2025, at about 9:55 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2900 block of W. Wheatland Road, just south of I-20. When officers arrived, they found multiple victims at the Verbazend Creations & Event Venue.
Investigators say five people were shot. One of the victims, 33-year-old Joseph Premeaux, was taken to a local hospital where he died. Another victim remains in critical condition, and three others are being treated for injuries described as stable.
The investigation is ongoing under case numbers 174750-2025 and 174898-2025.
UPDATE: On December 6, Dallas Police arrested 21-year-old Jesus Torres in connection with this case. He was taken to the hospital for medical treatment and has since been booked into the Dallas County Jail and charged with Murder.
