Fort Worth Felon Sentenced to 45 Years for Restaurant Gun Attack

Defendant: Angel Villareal

Fort Worth, TX - A Tarrant County jury has found 68-year-old Angel Medina Villareal guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and he has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.

On November 5, 2024, Villareal entered a restaurant in the 1300 block of East Bluff Street in Uptown Fort Worth carrying a firearm, attempting to threaten and attack family members. The family and their dog chased him out of the restaurant, after which he began firing the weapon outside.

Fort Worth Police issued an alert and, after a three-week search, Villareal was located and arrested by Midland County deputies in Midland, Texas.

Prosecutors Kimberly Barragon and Mary Martin handled the case, with DA Investigator Josh Neiswender and Victim Coordinator Imelda Lopez assisting.

The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office thanked the Fort Worth and Midland Police Departments and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for their efforts in keeping the community safe.
