DALLAS, TX - Dallas officers assisting the Street Racing Task Force made a significant drug seizure on December 6 after stopping a speeding SUV in the 11300 block of McCree Road. The incident began when an undercover officer spotted a gold 2007 GMC Yukon traveling well above the speed limit near 11300 Garland Road and notified nearby uniformed units.
Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as 38-year-old Moises Perez Jr, and the passenger, 34-year-old Jesus Jonathon Garza, were detained while officers ran subject checks. Garza was found to have an active warrant for a parole violation related to burglary of a habitation. A search of Garza also uncovered cocaine.
Officers discovered several additional violations during the stop, including expired vehicle registration and the driver’s inability to provide valid insurance. The GMC Yukon was towed, and officers conducted an inventory search as required by department policy.
Inside the vehicle, officers found:
-
A bag containing suspected methamphetamine
-
Two large clear bags holding a white powdery substance inside a Crown Royal liquor bag concealed in the center console
-
Two small red baggies containing a similar substance
-
Cash in assorted denominations, consistent with narcotics sales
After testing and weighing the substances, officers confirmed the seizure of 445.8 grams of cocaine and 47.7 grams of methamphetamine.
Perez was arrested and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. Garza was taken into custody on his outstanding warrant. The arrest was documented under case #174772-2025.
“This arrest reflects the dedication our officers show every day as they work to remove dangerous drugs from our streets and protect our community,” said Major Gabriel Candelaria.
