IRVING, Texas – Punch Line Irving is gearing up for its grand opening next week, giving Dallas–Fort Worth comedy fans a new place to catch big-name acts and fast-rising performers. The club becomes Punch Line’s fifth location nationwide and its second in Texas. With room for 240 guests, it plans to host more than 350 shows and private events each year.
“Irving and the greater DFW area have a vibrant, supportive comedy community with a strong pipeline of local talent,” said Amanda Kyser, head of operations at Punch Line Comedy Clubs. “Punch Line Irving is our commitment to helping that scene continue to grow. It’s the kind of room national acts return to for that intimate, electric Punch Line crowd, and a launchpad for rising comics ready for their next step.”
Punch Line Irving’s intimate 240-seat showroom ensures every seat feels like the front row. Design elements celebrate the brand’s belief that comedy is a sport, including:
-
A punching bag feature wall and a wall of boxing bells signed by “heavy hitter” performers
-
The Callback Bar, a flexible space outside the showroom that can host smaller performances, along with a fully furnished patio
-
A private lounge for comics in place of a traditional dressing room, designed as a shared gathering space with a custom media wall showing the live show feed, a dressing table, a private en-suite restroom and a hospitality station
Elevated food and drink offerings also complement the comedy experience. Punch Line Irving serves specialty cocktails like the Ringside Ranch Water — a twist on the classic made with blanco tequila, lime, soda, and hibiscus — while the menu features Punch Line favorites and local specialties, including Brisket Sliders and Homemade Punch Pop Tarts in bourbon apple or strawberry cream.
Punch Line Irving is also proud to invest in the Irving-Las Colinas community and uphold its legacy of supporting the comedy scene for nearly five decades. Twenty-five cents from each ticket at participating shows benefits Comedy Gives Back, a non-profit organization providing financial grants and resources to stand-up comedians in need. The club also hosted its first open mic on December 9 to welcome the community, with participating comics donating nonperishable items to the North Texas Food Bank.
“Comedy brings people together and Irving knows how to welcome a great crowd,” said Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer. “Punch Line Irving will be a place where community and culture meet. We’re excited to welcome this iconic brand and to see local comics share the stage with national headliners right here in Irving.”
Punch Line Irving’s opening act gives local fans a rare and special opportunity to see a comedic icon perform in an intimate setting. Dave Chappelle, who has famously called Punch Line “sacred ground” and previously inaugurated Punch Line’s Philadelphia and Houston clubs, will open the venue with a sold-out, two-night engagement on December 17 and 18.
Following, audiences can expect a lineup of national headliners, rising stars and local comics celebrating Dallas-area voices. Additional shows are on sale now through next year, featuring beloved performers including Leslie Jones, Andy Huggins and Steph Tolev.
