On December 11, 2025, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting in the 15800 block of El Estado Drive in Far North Dallas. Upon arrival, officers found 24-year-old Arlina Sanders and 27-year-old Darvilease Washington shot. Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene, while Washington was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
During the investigation, detectives identified a possible suspect and vehicle connected to the shooting, registered in Mesquite. While preparing an arrest warrant, authorities were informed by the Mesquite Police Department of a shooting incident in their city. The suspect from the Dallas shooting was found deceased in the 1000 block of Craig Drive in Mesquite from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The suspect’s vehicle was located in a nearby driveway.
