Two people were killed early Saturday morning after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in far North Dallas.
Dallas Fire-Rescue units were dispatched at approximately 3:21 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, to an apartment fire in the 4000 block of Frankford Road. When crews arrived, they encountered heavy fire coming from a first-floor apartment in a two-story building. Due to reports that multiple residents may have been trapped inside, a second-alarm response was requested.
Two residents occupied the apartment where the fire originated. One resident was able to escape and was transported by Dallas Fire-Rescue to a hospital in critical condition but later died from their injuries. Firefighters located the second resident unresponsive inside the apartment and pronounced them dead at the scene due to the severity of the injuries.
Authorities confirmed the two victims were siblings, a brother and sister.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and will be determined pending final results from the Medical Examiner’s Office.
