Tragic End to Fort Worth Lake Search: Missing Kayaker Found Deceased

On the evening of Monday, December 15, 2025, the Fort Worth Police Department responded to a missing person report in the 4700 block of TCC Lakeside Drive. The missing man had last been in contact with friends and family around 10:00 a.m., stating he was going fishing and kayaking in the area. When he failed to return or check in, loved ones pinged his last known location, prompting police to respond.

Officers discovered his vehicle parked near a local boat ramp, raising concerns about his safety. Fort Worth PD’s Air One unit located an empty kayak on the east side of the lake, confirmed to belong to the missing individual. Dive teams from the Fort Worth Fire Department immediately began searching the water, continuing until approximately 11:00 p.m. when the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) took over search operations. The search continued through the night into the next day.

Tragically, on December 17, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., TRWD Law Enforcement, with assistance from Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens, recovered the body of a male consistent with the missing kayaker’s description. The body has been turned over to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner for identification.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident remains ongoing, with Fort Worth Police and TRWD continuing to work together.
