Deputy-Involved Shooting Under Investigation Following Domestic Disturbance in Haslet

HASLET, TX - Authorities are investigating a deputy-involved shooting that occurred late Friday night during a response to a domestic disturbance call in Haslet.

According to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the 14000 block of Oak Bark Drive at approximately 10:50 p.m. on December 26. When deputies arrived, one adult male was detained at the scene. During the response, an officer-involved shooting occurred involving a second adult male inside the residence.

Deputies immediately rendered life-saving aid to the injured man, who was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. No further details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting have been released.

In line with department policy, the deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave. At the request of the Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Rangers will conduct an independent investigation into the incident. Once complete, their findings will be forwarded to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office for review.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office will also carry out a separate internal administrative investigation. Officials noted the case remains in its early stages and asked for patience as investigators work to gather all relevant facts.
