Arson Suspect Arrested in Fire at Former The Colony City Hall

Adame Arribas

The Colony, Texas – The Colony Fire Department announced Monday that a suspect has been arrested in connection with an intentionally set fire at the city’s former City Hall building last month.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on November 20, 2025, The Colony Public Safety Communications received a 911 call reporting the smell of smoke at the former City Hall located at 6800 Main Street. Fire crews arrived within minutes and discovered a small fire inside the women’s restroom.

An investigation conducted by the TCFD Fire Marshal’s Office, which included video review, witness interviews, and evidence collection, determined the fire had been deliberately set.

On December 19, with assistance from the The Colony Police Department, investigators arrested Adame Arribas of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, without incident. Arribas was charged with second-degree arson. The case has been filed with the Denton County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

TCFD and TCPD praised the joint investigative effort, citing the persistence and collaboration between agencies that led to the suspect’s arrest.
