DALLAS, TX - Dallas Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in West Dallas.
Officers were dispatched around 2:52 a.m. on December 28, 2025, to a shooting call in the 1800 block of Sylvan Avenue near Interstate 30. When officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Juan Cardoza lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and transported Cardoza to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said the suspect, identified as Michael White, remained at the scene and was transported to Jack Evans Police Headquarters for questioning. Investigators are continuing to work the case, and the incident will be referred to the Dallas County Grand Jury for review.
