DALLAS, Texas - A Dallas woman has been arrested and charged with murder after a fatal shooting Thursday night in Southeast Dallas, according to the Dallas Police Department.
Officers responded at approximately 10:40 p.m. on July 23 to the 8800 block of Lake June Road following reports of a shooting.
The preliminary investigation determined that 20-year-old Stacie Carrasco had been shot by 21-year-old Maria Morales.
Dallas Fire-Rescue transported Carrasco to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators later located Morales and took her into custody. She was booked into the Lew Sterrett Jail and charged with Murder. Morales was also out on parole so she was charged with a Parole Violation.
Police have not released additional details regarding what led to the shooting or the relationship, if any, between the victim and the suspect.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation and are being documented under case number 107786-2026.
