FORT WORTH, TX - Fort Worth police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred December 31, 2025, in the 3400 block of Lake Como Drive in the Como neighborhood.
Officers were dispatched to the scene after reports of a shooting and located an adult male on a walking bridge suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his torso. Medics rendered aid at the scene, but the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Preliminary findings indicate the victim and the female shooter were previously involved in a dating relationship. Investigators say the two became involved in a verbal and physical altercation while on the walking bridge. Prior to the shooting, the female reportedly asked witnesses to call 911 after she was allegedly assaulted.
Officers detained the female at the scene. She was later transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident. No other injuries were reported.
Fort Worth homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death and confirm the victim’s identity.
The investigation remains ongoing.
